In March of 2020, many organizations found themselves at a crossroads. Questions like, “where do we go
from here?” and “what’s our purpose now?” The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Orange
County (YNPN-OC) was in that same predicament, wondering how to serve the new and emerging
nonprofit professional searching to find a place in our sector, and ways to network in a new virtual world.

So what did they do? First, they humbled themselves, and called upon new leadership; new fresh set of
eyes, and a new energy that would help them reflect and reboot the organization for a post-COVID world.

So… for the past 10 months, I have had the distinct pleasure of working alongside the following
individuals on the future and growth opportunities for the local chapter. In that time we’ve taken on some
bold moves, including becoming a fiscal project under Charitable Ventures; and re-branding ourselves as
the Orange County Nonprofit Professionals Network (OCNPN), in an effort to include nonprofit
professionals of all ages and experience levels. A place where anyone looking to grow professionally can
come and experience what it is like to serve and lead successfully.

Our new mission is to inspire, connect and elevate nonprofit professionals through experiential learning opportunities. We want to serve new and emerging nonprofit professionals in the Orange County area, looking to grow and elevate their career by experiencing what it means to be a part of an effective organization. Our services are a byproduct of our organizational structure and process. Meaning, when you join OCNPN, you enter into a culture and experience that aims to teach how an effective organization thrives through board involvement, committee/volunteer infrastructure and marketing & research development.

It’s been an incredible journey! Each month for the past 10 months, these 12 individuals have come together, trusted in the process and are committed to bringing you quality programming and leadership development opportunities to elevate your career. Which is why THEY are now the Founding Board Members of new era of nonprofit sustainability and culture. Together, we can make our vision of transforming the sector, one leader at a time, a reality.

As the new Board Chair of the Orange County Nonprofit Professionals Network (OCNPN), I am proud to announce the following Board of Directors for 2021. To learn more and find ways to volunteer, please visit our website at www.ocnpn.org.
